Led by Executive Director Omido Phyllis, Center for Justice Governance and Environmental Action (CJGEA) is a Mozilla Technology Fund 2024 awardee and a grassroots community based non-governmental organization advocating for human rights-based approach to environmental protection of the marginalized and ignored communities residing around extractive industries and mining sites in Kenya. CJGEA is working on a project that seeks to use AI and the conservation community to produce a comprehensive ecological mapping that will assist the Uyombo community in Kilifi County to protect their right to a clean and healthy environment, as well as their socioeconomic and cultural rights.
