Emre Kizilkaya is a senior editor and Ph.D. researcher. After a decade leading digital content strategy at Hürriyet, he now serves as the editor of Journo, a nonprofit news platform in Istanbul supported by Turkey's Journalists' Union (TGS) and the EU. Simultaneously, Kizilkaya is pursuing a Ph.D. in media studies at Galatasaray University. He has incorporated novel AI-powered techniques like large language models (LLMs) into his data collection and analysis since 2021, and he addresses addressing critical issues including algorithmic justice, misinformation, platform accountability, and media freedoms.
